Changing house code settings

Setting the house code links your remote to your system for reliable control. The house code is adjustable to avoid interference in situations where another device unexpectedly controls your system.

To change the expansion house code, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the expansion remote and locate the nine switches above the battery compartment
  2. Change the position of any of the first four switches using a push pin, paper clip or pen
  3. Replace the battery cover
  4. Hold the remote near the control console
  5. Turn the TV on
  6. Select the TV video input that connects to the system
  7. On the Control console, press Setup
  8. On the main remote, press Up or Down to highlight "Homewide"
  9. Press OK
  10. Press Up or Down to highlight "House code"
  11. Press OK
  12. On the expansion remote, press Stop. The system's house code setting will change to match the expansion remote
  13. On the main remote, press Exit to leave the menu
Please note the system has two house code modes. “Standard” (the default setting) which provides 16 house codes / 16 room codes and “Alternative” which provides 64 house codes / 4 room codes. The “Alternative” mode is typically used in multi-unit housing where the need for more than 16 unique house codes are needed.

To toggle between Standard and Alternative follow the directions above to get to the “House code” screen. Once there press and hold the MORE button for three seconds. “Standard” and “Alternative” will now be a selectable option on the screen. Toggling between them will reset the house code back to settings of "0" for Standard or "0A" for Alternative. It should be noted that switching between “Standard” and “Alternative” should only be used by installers or those working in hospitality.
