Using the Widescreen DVD setting
The Widescreen DVD option is available from your product when you are connected to a 4:3 (non-Widescreen) TV. This option allows to you view DVD picture in widescreen format (with black bars above and below) or to fit the picture to your TV screen (stretched vertically).
Changing the Widescreen DVD setting:
If the accessory VS-2 video enhancer is connected:
Note: The Widescreen DVD setting is only available when the system is set for older 4:3 TVs. For more info, see Setting TV Aspect Ratio.- On the remote control, press the System button
Tip: If the system menu does not appear on your TV, be sure the correct TV input is selected - Select Video, then press the Enter button
- Scroll down to Widescreen DVD, then press the Enter button
- Scroll up or down to select Modified or Unmodified, then press the Enter button
- Unmodified: The image is vertically stretched so black bars do not appear above and below the image
- Modified: The image is not stretched and black bars are added above and below the image
- Press the Exit button to exit the menu.
