Setting parental controls
Parental controls allows you to prevent users from viewing movies based on the rating. You can select "Lock Unrated Discs" to block unrated discs or "Lock Discs Rated Above" to block discs above a certain rating. These options are based on MPAA ratings that are typically encoded in the DVD.

Parental control options are based on the MPAA ratings encoded to DVDs. You can settings ratings for rated and unrated DVDs.
Setting parental controls for rated DVDs
The Lock Discs Rated Above setting blocks DVDs rated higher than the selected rating. For example, if Lock Discs Rated Above is set to 5, DVDs with a rating of 6 or higher will be blocked. To select a setting:- On the remote control, press the System button
Tip: If the system menu does not appear on your TV, be sure the correct TV input is selected - Scroll to DVD Lock, then press the Enter button
- Enter your password or create one
- Scroll to Lock Discs Rated Above, then press the Enter button
- Scroll to the desired restriction level
- Press the Exit button to exit the menu.
Setting parental controls for unrated DVDs
The Lock Unrated Discs setting can block DVDs that do not have a rating. To select a setting:- On the remote control, press the System button
Tip: If the system menu does not appear on your TV, be sure the correct TV input is selected - Scroll to DVD Lock, then press the Enter button
- Enter your password or create one
- Press the Enter button
- Scroll to On or Off
- Press the Exit button to exit the menu.
