Changing speaker mode
Your system can be set to play from 2, 3 or 5 speakers. This is useful, for example, to play stereo audio (i.e. a CD) on two speakers as it was originally intended. It is also useful in situations when you cannot connect all five speakers to your system.
Changing speaker mode:
To change the speaker mode using the system display, follow these steps:
- Make sure the system is playing audio
- Press the Settings button on the Lifestyle system remote
- Press the down arrow to select the speaker mode
- Press the right arrow
- Press the up or down arrows to change the number of speakers that will play
- 2: This will allow audio to play only from the left and right front speakers
- 3: This will allow audio to play only from the left and right front speakers, and the center-channel speaker
- 5 Audio: This will allow audio to play through all five speakers. However the sound will be optimized for music sources, i.e. CD, MP3, etc.
- 5 Video: This will allow audio to play through all five speakers. However the sound will be optimized for video soundtracks, i.e. movies
- Make sure the system is playing audio
- Make sure the TV is on with the input that connects to the media console selected
- Press the Settings button on the Lifestyle system remote
- Press the down arrow to select the speaker mode
- Press the right arrow
- Press the up or down arrows to change the number of speakers that will play
- 2: This will allow audio to play only from the left and right front speakers
- 3: This will allow audio to play only from the left and right front speakers, and the center-channel speakers
- 5 Audio: This will allow audio to play through all five speakers. However, the sound will be optimized for music sources, i.e. CD, MP3, etc.
- 5 Video: This will allow audio to play through all five speakers. However, the sound will be optimized for video soundtracks, i.e. movies
