Speaker placement and positioning
Speaker placement can affect how your system sounds in the listening area. Get tips on positioning your speakers for the best sound quality.
Placement Suggestions:
Left and Right front speakers
- Place the cube speakers on line with the horizontal center of the TV screen or higher.
- Place the cube speakers 6 to 15 feet apart.
- One cube of the array should face directly into the room to provide direct sound while the other faces a wall to provide reflected sound.
- All of the cube speakers are magnetically shielded, and can be placed close to a monitor.
- The sound from the center speaker should appear to come from the center of the screen.
- Place the speaker either above or below the TV, on line with the vertical center of the screen.
- Aim each cube slightly away from center to create a wide area of direct sound
- The rear (surround) speakers should be located in the rear half of the room, preferably behind the listener.
- Place the speakers at ear level or higher if possible.
- One cube of the array should face directly into the room to provide direct sound while the other faces a wall to provide reflected sound.
- Place the Acoustimass module along the same wall as the TV.
- Do not block the vent openings at the back of the Acoustimass module. This could cause the module to overheat.
- The Acoustimass module can safely sit on its side, but do not stand it on the end with the port or on the end opposite the port.
- The Acoustimass module is not magnetically shielded, and must be placed at least 18 to 24 inches from a TV monitor.
Note: Only CRT style TVs are affected. This includes Tube style TVs and Rear Projections with CRTs
