The Bose Skill for Alexa lets you play music on your SoundTouch systems by talking to an Amazon Alexa-enabled device. The Skill is compatible with all SoundTouch systems.

Note: Amazon Alexa isn’t available in all languages and countries.

To get started

Open the SoundTouch app and install any available updates. When you open the SoundTouch app, you’ll be prompted if an update is available for your system. If prompted, install the available update

Link your SoundTouch account to the Alexa app. If you don't have the Alexa app, install it from your mobile device's app store. Then, sign in to the app using your Amazon account:

  • On your mobile device, open the Amazon Alexa app
  • From the app menu, select "Skills"
  • In the search field, enter "Bose" then select the search icon
  • Select the Bose Skill from the search results
  • Choose "Enable"
  • When prompted, enter your SoundTouch account username and password

Link your music services in the Alexa app. The Bose Skill for Alexa supports Amazon Music and other streaming services. To use these services, add one or more of them to the Alexa app:

  • On your mobile device, open the Amazon Alexa app
  • From the app menu, select "Settings > Music & Media"
  • Select the desired music service
  • Select "Link account to Alexa" and enter your account info for that music service

Now you're ready to use Alexa with your SoundTouch systems

Just ask Alexa to control your SoundTouch system. Make sure you use the name you gave the system in the SoundTouch app. For example, if you named your system “Kitchen”, try these commands:

  • Alexa, play some jazz in the Kitchen.
  • Alexa, turn up the volume in the Kitchen.
  • Alexa, what's playing in the Kitchen?
