Using the Amazon Alexa voice assistant with Bose smart products

Alexa lets you control your product using your voice. You can enable voice control of your product at any time using the Bose Music app.

Note: Amazon Alexa isn’t available in all languages and countries.

Adding Alexa to your product:

If you have multiple products in your household, we recommend adding the same Alexa account to each product for a consistent experience throughout your home.

In the Bose Music app, tap the My Bose icon in the top-left corner

Select the product you want to add Alexa for

Tap the product image in the bottom-right corner

Tap Settings > Voice Assistant and select Alexa

Follow the app instructions to link your Amazon account

Talking to Alexa

Say “Alexa” to wake your product or touch the action button ○ on your product, then make a request. For example:

  • Alexa, play funk
  • Alexa, set the volume to 40 (or a number from 0 to 100)
  • Alexa, next song
  • Alexa, set a timer for 5 minutes
  • Alexa, what’s the weather like?
  • Alexa, watch channel 25*

*For soundbars configured to operate your cable or satellite box

If you have multiple products, control a specific one by saying the name you gave your product in the Bose Music app. For example, if you named your product “Kitchen”, say “Alexa, play funk in the Kitchen”.

Note: Alexa can only play music services (e.g. Pandora or Deezer) that are linked to your Amazon account. Open the Alexa app, go to Menu > Settings > Music & Media, and add the music services you want to use. Once added, you can ask Alexa to play those services.
